Thank you for your interest in becoming a candidate of Irwin & Wagner. Perhaps we’ve reached out to you directly, or you’ve heard about us from a trusted colleague. We hope this page will answer some of your questions about working with an Executive Search Firm from the candidate’s perspective.

Why did you reach out to me?
There are many reasons we may have reached out to you, including of course, that we think you may be a fit for one of our active Executive Search projects. We may also reach out to you to establish a connection for an upcoming project requiring someone of your background, or to seek potential referrals for active or upcoming projects.
Do you share a list of your active projects?
No, all of our projects are confidential, and we prefer to seek out candidates that match the requirements our clients have given us, instead of having potential candidates come to us.
Why don’t you disclose the opportunity before establishing a fit?
This is for several reasons. Primarily, it allows us to get a clearer understanding of your skills, accomplishments, wants, and needs, unclouded by the specifics of a particular opportunity. This allows us to make a more unbiased match, typically resulting in longer-term placements. This also allows us to be able to able to reach out to you with more relevant opportunities in the future, which we would not be able to do if all we knew about you was your interest or lack thereof regarding one role.
What is your “Confidential Internal Database”?
We maintain a database of professionals we have engaged with previously, including a copy of their resumes. Being included in that database is the best way to remain top of mind for active and upcoming projects. This database is used exclusively by our staff and consultants under an enhanced confidentiality agreement. We never send your name or resume to a client without first obtaining your specific and explicit permission to do so.
Can you help me get a job with a specific company?
Only if that company is a current client of ours with an active project for which you’re qualified. We do not market candidates, nor do we offer Executive Outplacement Services at this time.
Can I submit myself to be a candidate?
Of course! We welcome experienced individuals to reach out to us on an introductory basis. Please email info@irwinwagner.com with your resume and availability for that introductory phone call. Note that we are limited by our current active projects, and we may not have an opportunity that will be a good match for you.
